Introducing Madix James Jones. He was born May 28, 2010 at 1:28 p.m.
We went to the hospital at 7:00 a.m. We got all checked in and I got hooked up to the monitors. Dr. Ward came at 7:30 , broke my water, craziest feeling in the world and I think I probably lost about 10 lbs just in fluid, and had the Pitocin started. Within a few minutes the contractions started, they weren't to bad but I was definitely getting uncomfortable. My contractions were coming so fast and so strong that Madix wasn't getting enough time to recover so the nurse decided to turn the Pitocin to a 2 for awhile. I guess most people can have the Pitocin turned up to 20 I barely got to a 4. By 9:30 I couldn't take the contractions anymore and was ready for my epidural. The anesthesiologist was wonderful and within 15 minutes of his arrival the epidural was in and working!!! By 11:00 I was dilated to a 6 and almost completely thinned out. Dr. Ward came and checked me a little after 1:00, he had me do a practice push and half way through the counting he said STOP, we need to get ready this baby is coming now. I pushed 3 more times and he was out!!! I am so thankful that I have easy deliveries. He was 8 lbs 1 oz and 20 inches. He was much bigger then Avrie in weight but 1 inch shorter than her. He did have to be on the warmers for a little while to get his temp up. He has been such a good baby and Avrie has been so good with him.
